A little bit about our Training and Team.
We train many aspects of dog training and our ethos is to create a mutual bond between you and your dog with our training methods. We aim to provide the best start for your puppy or dog. We’ll teach you how to understand the bond with each other, creating a great partnership. Our training is designed to be fun and interactive. We encourage owners to ask questions and share experiences.
The easy part of training is to show you how to train your dog, the more challenging and fulfilling part of our role is to teach you how to do the training yourself. We have a lot of understanding and patience and can use our trained demonstration dogs to show techniques. Our job is very rewarding and seeing the bond and understanding develop between you and your dog is the best part for us all.
We have an experienced training team using a modern approach to training. Within our training team we have a number of Kennel Club Examiners, Sarah is a Member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT) and also Kennel Club Accredited Instructor (KCAI) in CD and GCDS.
Classes at Little Orchard Dog Training Academy are run by a team of trainers, assistants and dogs who make up the Training Team.
We currently have a family of team of tutor dogs at Little Orchard which are sociable dogs that naturally display good communication skills or signalling. They enjoy interaction with other dogs and that is encouraged and trained along with a high level recall and distance training control. In the groups the tutor dog will often teach a shy puppy to take its time and settle in and keep others from knocking its confidence.
These dogs are essential to the running of the groups as puppies cannot learn canine etiquette and communication from humans or from inappropriate dogs with fear or aggression. We are very proud of our team that have already successfully helped many puppies and dogs with socialisation or rehabilitation!
